Harry Kane, the 30-year-old striker for Tottenham Hotspur and England, has agreed to join Bayern Munich in a deal worth over $110 million. This agreement in principle comes as Kane has one year remaining on his current contract with Spurs, where he is already the club’s all-time leading scorer with 280 goals. In recent years, Kane has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Manchester City due to Tottenham’s lack of success in European competitions.

Bayern Munich had several bids for Kane rejected by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy earlier this summer. However, the two clubs have now reached an agreement, and Kane has reportedly chosen to move to Bavaria. Tottenham was hesitant to let their star striker join a domestic rival, which is why they turned down interest from Manchester United and Manchester City. If Kane does not move now, he will become a free agent next year. Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou wanted to keep Kane and even played him in a friendly match against Shakhtar Donetsk last weekend.
Kane, who has won the Premier League Golden Boot three times, has scored 213 league goals and is closing in on Alan Shearer’s record tally of 260 goals. He is also England’s all-time leading scorer with 58 goals. Kane is eager to win major trophies with both his club and country, and Bayern Munich has a strong tradition of success in Germany and Europe.

Under the leadership of former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, Bayern Munich has won 33 Bundesliga titles and is the 11-time defending champions of Germany. They have also won 6 UEFA Champions League titles and 20 DFB Pokal titles. Kane sees this as an opportunity to achieve success as he enters his thirties, especially since Bayern has yet to find a suitable replacement for their former prolific striker Robert Lewandowski who left the club.
