Inter Miami’s pursuit of Luis Suarez in Major League Soccer (MLS) may soon come to an end, according to TyC Sports. Due to Suarez’s contract with Gremio, a deal could not be reached in the summer. However, with Gremio’s season ending, Suarez is expected to leave and sign a one-year contract with Inter Miami, with an option for a second year.

For Luis Suarez, this opportunity allows him to reunite with Lionel Messi and provides Inter Miami with an experienced player to lead the line. Despite his knee injuries, Suarez has been productive in the Brazilian Serie A, scoring 10 goals and assisting 10 more at the age of 36. Inter Miami will need to improve their performance when Messi is not on the pitch, especially with more games added to the schedule and Josef Martinez leaving the team.
In addition to competing in the MLS, Inter Miami will also participate in the U.S. Open Cup, Leagues Cup, and the Concacaf Champions Cup. The team will need to complete transfers quickly in order to meet the high expectations set for the upcoming season with Messi on board. Unfortunately, their friendly matches in China were canceled, but they are expected to aim high in their friendly schedule. Suarez will likely be integrated into the team’s rotation during the MLS preseason.
Although the addition of an aging player like Suarez requires careful management, his impressive goal-scoring record suggests he could have a significant impact on MLS, similar to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Exciting times are ahead for Inter Miami, as they have the opportunity to strengthen their roster with players like Angel Di Maria and promising young talents that can elevate the club’s performance.
