Billy Bean, a particular adviser to commissioner Rob Manfred and MLB’s senior vice chairman for variety, equality, and inclusion, has died after a yearlong combat with acute myeloid leukemia, the league introduced Tuesday. Bean was a Twenty fourth-round draft choose by the Yankees out of Loyola Marymount in 1985.
