The Winnipeg Jets have unveiled their new third jerseys, which pay homage to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The jerseys are called ‘Forty-Eight’ and are inspired by the 1948 RCAF team that won the gold medal at the Winter Olympics. The Jets partnered with the RCAF and adidas to ensure an authentic design.
In a video shared by the team on social media, the 1948 RCAF team is shown before Jets captain Adam Lowry skates in to reveal the new look. The primary color of the ‘Forty-Eight’ jersey is “RCAF Blue” with red shoulders. The jersey also features red and blue stripes reminiscent of the 1948 squad.

The Jets’ current logo is actually based on the old RCAF logo, so it’s fitting that the current logo is placed in the middle of the new jersey, symbolizing the connection between the past and present.
In their social media announcement, the Jets stated, “The jersey is a tribute to the incredible work and service provided by Canada’s military institutions over the last century.”
The new jerseys are now available for purchase on the team’s website, but the Jets have not yet announced when they will be worn in a game for the first time.
