Week 9 College Football Predictions: Picks Against the Spread, Odds for Top 25 Games

This week in college football, there are big changes coming as teams get one more chance to impress before the College Football Playoff Rankings are released. Upsets become more frequent and the playoff picture becomes clearer. Two premier afternoon games to watch are Florida vs. Georgia and Oregon vs. Utah.

Florida and No. 1 Georgia will face off in their annual rivalry game, and although Georgia is undefeated, they have not been as dominant as in previous seasons. Florida quarterback Graham Mertz has emerged as one of the most accurate passers in the nation, making this game an exciting one to watch. In another game, No. 8 Oregon will play against No. 13 Utah in a Pac-12 showdown. Oregon is looking to rebound after a loss to No. 5 Washington and solidify their position as a top-two team in the Pac-12.

Here are our expert picks for the best games in Week 9:

Indiana at No. 10 Penn State

Noon | CBS, Paramount+ with Showtime, CBSSports.com, CBS Sports App — Penn State is expected to bounce back after a loss to Ohio State. Indiana may be able to keep up in the first half, but Penn State’s dominance will take over in the second half. Pick: Penn State -32 — David Cobb

No. 6 Oklahoma at Kansas

Noon | Fox, fubo — Oklahoma’s depth on both sides of the ball will be too much for Kansas to handle. Pick: Oklahoma -10 — Will Backus

No. 1 Georgia vs. Florida (Jacksonville)

3:30 p.m. | CBS, Paramount+ with Showtime, CBSSports.com, CBS Sports App — Despite Georgia’s struggles, they will come out on top against Florida. Pick: Florida +14.5 — Barrett Sallee

No. 8 Oregon at No. 13 Utah

3:30 p.m. | Fox, fubo — Oregon’s balance and well-rounded team will give them an edge over Utah. Pick: Oregon -6.5 — Chip Patterson

No. 3 Ohio State at Wisconsin

7:30 p.m. | NBC, fubo — Betting the under has been profitable with Ohio State. Expect a low-scoring game. Pick: Under 44.5 — Tom Fornelli
