Major League Baseball’s offseason has started, and with it comes the opening of free agency. After the World Series, incumbent teams had a five-day exclusive window for negotiating with potential free agents. Now, any team can negotiate with this year’s free-agent class.
Some of the biggest names on the market this winter are two-way player Shohei Ohtani and incoming Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who will be posted for MLB consideration by the Orix Buffaloes. Other notable players include potential NL Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell, outfielder Cody Bellinger, and third baseman Matt Chapman. Aaron Nola has already agreed to return to the Phillies.
