Stephen Curry, widely recognized as the greatest shooter in NBA history, may have some competition when it comes to 3-point shooting competitions. WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu recently set a record in the WNBA’s 3-point shooting competition by scoring 37 points in a single round. She made an impressive 25 out of 27 shots and emerged as the winner of the event.
During an interview on “NBA Today,” Curry expressed his intention to challenge Ionescu and determine who is the better 3-point shooter. He acknowledged her outstanding performance and stated, “I’ve got something to shoot for now that she went crazy with the 37 points in their All-Star weekend. We’ve got to settle that for sure to see who’s the best three-point competition shooter.”
Upon hearing Curry’s statement, Ionescu responded enthusiastically on Twitter, saying, “Let’s get itttt” accompanied by three laughing emojis. She had previously tweeted, “shoot out?,” after winning the WNBA three-point contest and tagged Curry.
Curry himself holds the NBA 3-point contest record with 31 points, achieved during the first round of the 2021 NBA three-point contest. He also won the 2015 NBA three-point contest.
