The highly anticipated SummerSlam is just days away and will take place in Detroit this Saturday. As one of WWE’s “Big Four” pay-per-view events, SummerSlam sets the stage for the upcoming seasons.

At the 2023 edition of SummerSlam, the match that has fans most invested is the “Tribal Combat” match for the undisputed WWE universal championship between Roman Reigns and his cousin Jey Uso. This match has been years in the making, with Uso first feuding with Reigns before joining forces with him in The Bloodline.

In addition to this marquee match, there are other exciting matchups to look forward to. Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes aim to settle their feud, Seth Rollins defends his world heavyweight championship against Finn Balor, and Asuka puts her women’s championship on the line in a triple threat match against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair.

Another highlight is the showdown between social media star Logan Paul and Ricochet, who have been feuding since their epic collision at WrestleMania. The rest of the card is stacked with four title matches and other significant clashes.

Now, let’s see who the CBS Sports experts predict will come out on top in each match at SummerSlam 2023.

2023 WWE SummerSlam Predictions

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship — Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso (Tribal Combat)

The experts believe that despite the opportunity, Jey Uso is unlikely to defeat Roman Reigns. The “Tribal Combat” rules favor Reigns and are expected to help him retain the title once again.

Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar

In this match, Cody Rhodes is predicted to come out on top as he is in greater need of a win compared to Brock Lesnar. A loss for Rhodes would cast doubt on his future in WWE.

World Heavyweight Championship — Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor

Seth Rollins is favored to win this match against Finn Balor. WWE sees Balor as not ready to hold the world championship at this stage of his career.

WWE Women’s Championship — Asuka (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Bianca Belair

Asuka is predicted to retain her title in the triple threat match against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair. Asuka’s reign as champion is still fresh, giving her the opportunity to continue as the champion.

Ricochet vs. Logan Paul

Logan Paul is expected to defeat Ricochet in their match. Ricochet is a thrilling performer but unlikely to become a major champion in WWE.

Intercontinental Championship — Gunther (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

While Drew McIntyre returning to face Gunther is exciting, the experts predict Gunther will retain his intercontinental championship and break Honky Tonk Man’s record for the longest reign.

Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler (MMA Rules)

In the MMA Rules match, Shayna Baszler is expected to defeat Ronda Rousey. This match could establish Baszler as a main event player in WWE.

SummerSlam Battle Royal

LA Knight is predicted to win the SummerSlam Battle Royal. A victory for Knight could lead to exciting storylines and opportunities in the future.
